Oh my… I know I’ve been a few weeks delayed with my monthly post, but as promised, here is Niko’s 10th month photoshoot.
Because of the Aquaman hype last December, I decided to go with it for Niko’s 10th month birthday theme. I was a little confused about which costume to make: Aquaman’s official gold and green costume or the topless one. Of course, I went with the easiest one. 😛
The shoulder armor and straps are made from gold and black foam papers. I wanted to follow the embossed effect of the armor, so I cut heart-shaped holes from the gold foam paper and attached it unto a black paper. I glued the straps using hot glue and connected the end of the strap with Velcro hook-and-loop fasteners so I can make adjustments if necessary.
I made three sets of the shoulder pad and glued them on top of each other.
I made the cuff using the same technique. I cut triangular holes from the gold foam paper, glued it unto a black paper and attached the Velcro to both ends. The Aquaman logo was cut out from the same gold foam paper and glued on a black foam strap I used as a belt.
For the trident, I covered a wooden stick with yellow paper. The fork part was made of two thick yellow paper glued together covering the top of the stick.
