Going Italian: Padre Nostro

The moment we stepped into the restaurant, it felt like we were transported straight to Italy with a colorful view of the Italian flag covering the ceiling and tables. We were welcomed warmly by the staff from the entrance door and brought to our table immediately. It didn’t take that long before she was able to take our orders and serve our food. The instrumental music added a more romantic feel to the ambiance.

The staff was really accommodating asking us every now and then if we need anything. I ordered my all-time favorite lasagna and I’m proud to say, it was not too greasy and tasted really good. Their homemade juice is also a must-try!

The prices are fairly reasonable considering the food servings were quite a lot, at least for me. I only ate half of my lasagna.

We finished our Italian dining experience with Italian ice creams made from fresh fruits. I was a little confused of which flavor to order since the menu is written in Dutch , but the staff was nice enough to let me taste some of the flavors. I would recommend the coconut (coco) and soursop (zuurzak).

Homemade juice with pineapple, peach and ginger; 6 SRD (0.75 US)
Bruschetta con Pomodori (roasted bread with garlic and tomato); 24 SRD (3 US)
Lasagna; 49 SRD (7 US)
Fusilli al Salmone (pasta with Norwegian salmon in cream sauce); 54SRD (7.50 US)
Italian ice cream made from fresh fruits; 6 SRD

Food was delicious. I think that’s the only Italian restaurant we have here in Suriname. Let me check on that. Lol 😀
