Halloween Name Recognition Puzzle

This name recognition puzzle activity is like a smaller version of the alphabet floor mats found in every household with small children. 🤣

I made this puzzle using a single sheet of craft foam. It’s so easy to make plus it encourages the kids become more aware of their own names.

HALLOWEEN NAME RECOGNITION PUZZLE

THINGS WE USED:
Craft foam sheet (I used orange BECAUSE… Halloween!!!)
White cardstock
Any Halloween embellishment (I saved these from our sensory bin activity last weekend)
Glue gun and sticks
Cricut or — a cutter, pencil and a ruler
Scissors

With the Cricut, all you need to do is type the letters on design space, make some adjustments and let the machine do the cutting.

We can also do it the other way:
Write down the letters on the sheet. You can use a ruler to help with the straight lines.
Then start tracing the letters with a cutter and a ruler. *It doesn’t need to be straight or whatever. As long as you can recognize the letters, no problem. Hey, it should be fun!

Remove the letters from the sheet and glue the cardstock to the back of the foam sheet to cover the holes.
And since some foam sheets are too soft (like mine), I also attached the cardstock to the back of each letter to make it a little sturdy.
Lastly, don’t forget to put the Halloween embellishments.

The color orange is so inviting that even Nate wanted to play with them. He never left his brother’s side.

The first time he completed the puzzle, he made it stand on the wall, so Mommy can take a photo.

Before I give Niko a letter, I will first say the letter then he repeats after me. Now, he is familiar with the letter N-I-K-O. He enjoyed this activity so much that he did it several times.
