Lucky is a Chinese restaurant that serves traditional dim sum food in Suriname. It has a wide selection of dim sum and other exotic dishes.
It also has a unique order method where the staff will leave a menu sheet and you just need to fill in how many dishes you want. We tried as many as possible. The drinks are available in the fridge and you can take it on your own.
While waiting for our orders, the staff provided us with their complimentary tea in a cute teapot.
The food were delicious. The siomai might be a little expensive compared to the Sunday market price, but the serving is a lot bigger and tastier. My favorite is the steamed spareribs.
I think the prices are worth paying for considering the generous amount of food servings. We paid around 30 US including drinks.
Compared to other Chinese restaurants, Lucky is only open from 7:30 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon. It might not be as elegantly decorated and spacious as the other restaurants, but it’s quite popular to the locals. We went there on a Sunday and the place was already crowded.
There are a few restaurants called Lucky in Suriname, so make sure you tell the driver its exact location.
