WEEK 17 and 18
Welcome to my Week 17-18 bump update!
Before going to The Netherlands for a week, we first went for a 3D ultrasound. The doctor did fetal measurements, checking everything from body proportion to arms and legs, internal organs, spinal cord and gender. We even saw a 3D view of our baby’s face.
I really wanted to do a gender reveal party, but I never got the time to organize one. We were scheduled for a NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) in Belgium the following week and we need to prioritize it first. My husband wanted to know the gender beforehand and told me that if I want, I can wait for it, so I can do my gender reveal, but he needs to know. I didn’t agree with it. If he knows, I need to know, too.
I really had a feeling my baby is a BOY because I had a pimple outbreak during the first trimester. Before going for our ultrasound appointment, me and my husband made a deal that we will know the gender together.
As the doctor was busy recording his findings in a very fast Dutch accent (which I couldn’t understand), I heard him say jongen and mannelijk. My eyes widened as I looked at my husband and asked him if I heard it right, that our baby is a boy. He smiled and nodded.
I have never been so happy and excited my whole life! We already had baby names ready in case it is a girl or a boy. Now, my bump has a name! 😀
At Week 18, I asked my house doctor for a letter so I can be exempted from entering xray/ scanner machines in the airport.
Me and my bump went on a road trip from The Netherlands to Belgium and lastly, to Paris. It was the best week ever.
