If you’ve been following my blog, I posted about the Thanksgiving sensory bin that I prepared for Niko the other day. There was a Pilgrim boat made from a piece of light wood that I put in the sensory bin.

For today’s activity, I added an extra boat and we tested them on the water.

THANKSGIVING WATER PLAY

MATERIALS USED:
Piece of light wood (square shape)
Brown felt
White cardstock
Straw (mix of black and white)
Water
Food coloring (blue)
Balls
Glue gun and stick

Cover the wood with felt.
Attach the straw on the felt with a hot glue.
Cut a square shape from the white cardstock and punch holes on both sides.
Insert the straws on the holes.
Pour blue food coloring into the water and add some balls for more details.

I also put out droppers, scoops and medicine cups for extra fun.

This water play is a big hit. Niko had fun because he was able to share this activity with his friends.

And an update about the boats: They survived the strong waves created by the kids. 😀
